The story of Saffrons stretches back even further than 1995 — its roots lie in the kampong days of the 1960s, when the founder and her mother cooked fragrant briyani for hundreds of guests at weddings across the neighbourhood, a tradition of taste and generosity that has been carried faithfully into the 21st century. That legacy is most vividly expressed in the restaurant's signature Gold Class Briyani — prepared using the traditional dum method, a slow-cooking technique in which premium basmati rice, freshly ground whole spices including cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and saffron, and halal-certified meats are sealed together and slow-cooked to allow every grain of rice to absorb the complex spice blend while the meat retains its succulence and tenderness.
