Tokyo Shokudo - AMK Hub
Casual Dining · Halal certified · Singapore City, Singapore
Cuisines: Japanese
Positioned on the second floor of AMK Hub in the heart of Ang Mo Kio - one of Singapore's most established and densely populated new towns - Tokyo Shokudo's AMK Hub outlet has built a reliable following among residents of the north and northeast who seek quality halal Japanese dining without having to travel to the city. The outlet sits conveniently above Ang Mo Kio MRT Station, making it one of the most accessible branches in the network.
The menu carries the full Tokyo Shokudo repertoire, developed under the culinary guidance of award-winning Chef Akimitsu Tanihara - a five-time gold medalist at Japan's prestigious Donburi Awards and the fifth-generation successor of Dote no Ise-ya, a 131-year-old Tendon institution in Asakusa, Tokyo. His legacy is most directly felt in the restaurant's Signature Tendon: a beautifully constructed bowl of crispy prawn, fish, egg, nori, and assorted vegetables over fluffy rice, drizzled with a deeply savoury house tare - a halal-certified introduction to one of Japan's most beloved rice bowl traditions. The ramen menu spans four signature soup bases - Original, Spicy, Tom Yam, and Black Mayu - with protein options including chicken chashu, beef shabu, seafood, and duck. The Chicken Cha Shu Black Mayu Ramen, enriched with fragrant charred garlic oil, and the Duck Spicy Ramen are consistent crowd favourites. Tsukemen (dipping ramen), Gyudon, Toji sets, and a range of side dishes including Chicken Gyoza and Mixed Tempura complete the offering.
